Itinerary
Seven days through the Rift Valley and into the Mara, at a comfortable pace.
Drive down into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Afternoon game drive for rhinos, flamingos and pelicans along the lakeshore.
A morning drive in Nakuru, then north to Lake Baringo. Afternoon birding around the lodge grounds and lakeshore — one of Kenya’s richest birding spots.
An early boat trip and a walk below the Baringo cliffs, then south to Lake Naivasha for an afternoon boat ride among hippos and fish eagles.
Cross the Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Afternoon game drive on the open plains.
A full day exploring the reserve with a picnic lunch, searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards and the great herds. From roughly July to October, the wildebeest migration may be in the Mara.
Another full day in the Mara — revisit the best sightings, explore new areas, or add an optional sunrise balloon flight.
A morning game drive, then the return to Nairobi via the Rift Valley escarpment viewpoint, arriving in the late afternoon.
